the Mountain
Yamanakaza, located in the former hot spring of Yamanaka Onsen, is characterised by its prestigious structure with lacquered pillars, lattice-door style walls and a makie makie coffered ceiling, which is a masterpiece of Yamanaka lacquerware techniques. Adjacent to Kikuno-yu, an all-suite hot spring with an elegant Tenpyo-style structure, it is also used as a tourist base in the hot spring resort area. In the hall equipped with a hinoki stage and pine shuttlecock, visitors can watch the 'Yamanaka-bushi Four Seasons Dance' performed by a geiko group every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday, and become familiar with traditional Yamanaka performing arts such as Yamanaka-bushi singing and geiko dancing.
