The association's Yamanaka lacquerware cup (see photo) was selected as a commemorative gift (hereafter 'the cup') for an international event scheduled to be held in 2020. The case was reported in the Hokuriku Chunichi Shimbun newspaper on 31 January 2020.
This cup was produced by the Association, but the original design was made by Zôhiko, a company based in Kyoto City, and was sold as a lacquerware cup before this cup was produced. This cup is based on that design and therefore has the same design as Zohiko's lacquerware cups. In order to avoid confusion among customers, we have decided to inform you about the history of the production.
The project for the above-mentioned souvenirs is underway with a modified design that respects the original design taste of the lacquered tea cups, but with a dissimilar shape. If you have any enquiries on this matter, please contact the association.
