山中塗　欅 千筋 汁椀 朱

外側下部に千筋を施した汁椀です。縁をわずかに反られてあるんで、口を当てて飲む際に口当たりも良く、飲みやすいカタチになっています。引き出しなどで伏せた状態で収納することも想定し、高台の側面を凹ませることにより伏せた状態から持ち上げる際に指がかかりやすくなっております。

This soup bowl is decorated with sen-suji patterns on the outer lower part of the bowl. The rim is slightly warped so that the bowl is comfortable to the mouth and easy to drink from.
The sides of the base are concave to make it easier to put fingers on the bowl when lifting it up from a prone position, in anticipation of storing it face down in a drawer.
