山中塗　SUWARI叢雲塗　JAPAN White

ワインやウイスキーの入ったグラスを、手慣れた感じでくるくる回す仕草を見かけたことはありませんか？「スワリング」とは、グラスに注いだお酒を空気に触れさせることでお酒の香りを立たせる仕草のこと。山中漆器のろくろの技術を活かし、可愛らしいデザインのカップが新登場！
欅の木を厚くくり抜き、木の重さで起き上がる構造にし、底が丸くなっており、しばらくの間ゆらゆらと揺れるデザインに仕上がりました。

山中漆器と言えば挽物ロクロ技術が盛んで、その木目を生かす拭き漆仕上げが特徴ということは全国的にも知られています。
漆下地を行った刷毛塗りの漆器は、使い込んでいくと上品な艶が出てくるのが特徴で使うというより育むという感じに近いです。
近年は職人、作家さんの減少、高齢化に伴い、このまま進むと刷毛塗りの職人はもっと減ってしまうかもしれません。若手漆器職人を育む意味としてもコンセプトを「育む」という意味合いで漆器づくりを行っています。

側面の黒く見える模様は、和ろうそくの煤を利用した叢雲塗（むらくもぬり）と言われる変わり塗の技法です。
漆が固まる前に和ろうそくの煤を付け、黒い雲や炎のゆらぎと思わせる模様に仕上げています。

Have you ever seen a person swirling a glass of wine or whiskey in a familiar manner? Swirling" is the gesture of letting the alcohol poured into the glass come into contact with the air to let the aroma of the alcohol stand out.
Utilizing Yamanaka Lacquer Ware's rokuroku technique, a cup with a cute design has newly appeared on the market!
The cup is made of thickly hollowed out zelkova wood and structured to rise up with the weight of the wood. The bottom is rounded, resulting in a design that swings for a while.

Yamanaka Lacquerware is known throughout Japan for its flourishing ground rokuro technique and its characteristic wiping lacquer finish that brings out the grain of the wood.
Brush lacquered lacquerware that has undergone a lacquer undercoating process is characterized by an elegant luster that comes out after use, and is more like a product to be nurtured than used.
In recent years, the number of craftsmen and artists has been decreasing and aging, and if this trend continues, the number of brush lacquering craftsmen may decrease even further. We are making lacquerware with the concept of "nurture" as a way to nurture young lacquerware craftsmen.

The black pattern on the side is a technique called Murakumo-nuri, which uses soot from Japanese candles.
Before the lacquer hardens, soot from Japanese candles is applied to the lacquer to create a pattern reminiscent of black clouds and flickering flames.
